LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville cross country teams head north this weekend to compete at the fifth annual Wisconsin adidas Invitational, one of the top collegiate races in the country, on Saturday, Oct. 19, in Madison, Wis.

Of the 36 teams competing in the men's race, 20 are ranked, while the women's field features 37 teams, with 17 in the national rankings. The men's 8K championship race at Zimmer Championship Course is scheduled for noon ET, while the women's 6K championship race is set for 1 p.m.

Tyler Byrne and Ernest Kibet, who each have been named American Athlete Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, lead the men's squad and helped the Cardinals take first in the Greater Louisville Classic on Oct. 5, the last time the teams raced.

Kibet finished second in the event, while Byrne and Mattias Wolter also finished in the top 10. Byrne took sixth overall and Wolter navigated the course to register an eighth-place finish.

On the women's side, all five scoring runners placed in the top 35 to push Louisville into a fourth-place showing in the event. Benadate Cheruyiot was the top placewinner, taking 22nd, while Agnes Chepchumba finished 25th.

Adair Gennocro, Michelle Molodynia, and Emily Bushey rounded out the top five. Louisville's top three spanned less than 10 seconds, and overall, the Cardinals' five scoring runners finished within 15 seconds.
