Hey Cards fans!
Emily Juhl here!
Today was another great day for the University of Louisville Volleyball team! To say preseason has flown by would be an understatement. As I sit here writing this blog while also packing for our exciting team trip to Lake Nolin tomorrow, I cannot believe my last preseason as a member of the UofL volleyball team will be over in 5 short days. Cliché I know, but time really does fly.
The morning began a little differently today as we were treated to some Wild Eggs for breakfast. (My favorite breakfast restaurant in Louisville!) We immediately got after it on the court after hearing some inspiring words from one of our strength coaches - "Every day is a challenge, how will you respond today?" This set the tone for the rest of the day.
One of our new freshman outside hitters, Maya McClendon, really took this to heart as we had to wipe up sweat after every defensive rep she completed! After practice we made our way over to the Marshall Center to lift and lets just say the music was ON POINT! For those of you looking for a hot new play list for your morning workouts Pandora Jock Jams station is the way to go! I think we have finally found a genre of music that the entire team gets fired up about as opposed to the daily dispute over rap versus country. After refueling our bodies with a delicious lunch provided by U-Club, we finished the day with a very competitive afternoon practice alongside a couple of our super fans, John and Vickie!
Tomorrow after practice we head to Lake Nolin to spend our off day together having a blast tubing, tanning, and relaxing. Be sure to stay tuned to the blogs the next couple of days as I can assure you there will be plenty of laughter and stories to share!
I cannot wait to see everyone out at the KFC Yum! Center this year to watch a scrappy, athletic, hardworking group of both familiar and some unfamiliar faces!
This is a great time to be a part of UofL athletics, and it is only just the beginning!
