Hey Cardinal fans! It's Jaden!

Today was day two of preseason for the volleyball team. We started our day with the usual warm up with our strength coaches and then hit the floor once again! We began with a review from the drills and techniques that we were taught on day one, and then incorporated some new competitive drills to see how we used those techniques in more game-like situations. Once we amped up the drills our energy level shot up too!

After the first session, we put our toe shoes on and skipped on over to the Marshall Center for our morning lift. Our strength coaches Hammer, Chad, and Dan had a quick but successful lift planned out for us to help build our strength before we headed to the ice treatment. After the morning session was done, we all had a team lunch at the Ville Grille and then took a short break before we got back in the gym for the second practice.

Our evening practice started off once again with our warm up and then a fun game of "Circle the Wagon" led by our coach, Melissa. It was a competitive and fun way to start off session two! After our warm up we reviewed our techniques once again through our drills and then got after it and played each other. We then got in the ice bath for our second treatment of the day before we had our team dinner. Once we all got food in our stomachs, we finished off our night with a team meeting in the film room to go over what we had learned and some new rotations. The Cards' day two of preseason was a success and we can't wait to hit the gym again tomorrow! With the way things are going, it is sure to be a great season!

Hey It's Allie!

It was another very successful day for Louisville volleyball. As usual, we got up with our "jockstraps" on ready to play. We started off our morning practice with nothing else but team ball control, focusing on competition within ourselves.

We ended our evening practice with more competition, but this time between teams. Obviously during this timespan, we had to get a few laughs in. It seems that our jokesters of the day were Lola, Davi, and of course Anne; and apparently my loud obnoxious laugh seems to spark everyone else's.

At the end of the night we all gathered around and Coach Kordes pointed out how much our senior, Gwen Rucker, has grown into being a better leader. Everyone added in saying: "Gwen has really helped on the court, showing me where to be and with techniques" "Gwen has been great with us Freshmen. She always includes us in stuff going on off the court." "Gwen is a great friend, and because of the trust I have with her I want to protect her on the court. I know she will protect me. We have each other's backs."

Today we grew as a team, not just in our skills on the volleyball court, but in our trust with each other. It was a great to see these positive shifts happening. I am very proud of all the hard work that was put in today, but this is only just the beginning. Our consistent hard work over time is what will make us great, and our competitiveness and trust are what will make us fun to watch.
