Stephanie Marsh is in her second season coaching the University of Louisville volleyball team after playing for the Cardinals for four seasons from 2003-2006. She began her coaching career as a volunteer assistant in 2008 while earning her MBA from U of L.
A three-year starter, Marsh was known for her versatility as the Cards' utility player. As a senior in 2006, she played right side, middle and libero. She also helped defeat Notre Dame in a five-game match for the BIG EAST Championship while playing on a sprained ankle.
As a junior at right side, she was fourth on the team in kills with 208 and third in aces with 28. After becoming a starter as a sophomore, Marsh earned All-Louisville Invitational honors and had seven matches with double-digit kills. She had 223 kills, 21 aces and 593 attacks for a .228 hitting percentage as a sophomore.
Marsh is a volleyball official and has coaching experience at the club level for MAVA. She earned her bachelor's degree in management from U of L in 2006.
A native of DeWitt, Iowa, Stephanie was a three-sport athlete in high school at DeWitt Central where she lettered for four years in volleyball and basketball and ran track for a year. She was named Athlete of the Year by the Quad City Times and named to the All-State First Team three times for volleyball and twice for basketball. She helped lead DeWitt Central to the its first State Tournament in 2000 and again in 2001 where it finished third both years. Marsh was a member of the All-State Tournament team both years. She was also a member of the Junior Olympic Club Team's Court Masters and competed at nationals tournaments for three consecutive years from 1999 to 2001.
Stephanie was recently engaged to Tyler Cantway.
