2009: Lindsey Mango was named to the all BIG EAST Tournament team last season, capping a strong junior campaign. She had a season high 25 digs against Notre Dame on 10/11. She also recorded 23 digs against Notre Dame in the BIG EAST semifinal and had 22 digs against Connecticut on 11/15 to go along with her 12 digs in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Minnesota. Lindsey had two service aces during three different matches this season. She recorded two kills against Liberty and three setting assists against Kentucky. Lindsey averaged 4.25 digs per set during the BIG EAST Tournament. Mango's kudos include being on the All-Tournament Team for the Active Ankle Challenge both at Ball State and Purdue as well as at the Cardinal Classic.
2008: She had double-digit digs in 23 of the Cardinals' 30 matches. She had 20 or more digs in five matches with 21 against Valparaiso and Tennessee. She had a season high three aces against Georgetown. In the BIG EAST Tournament, she had 11 digs against both Syracuse and Pitt. In the BIG EAST Tournament Championship, she had a match high 19 digs. She also had 19 digs and two aces against Purdue in the first round of the NCAA.
2007: Lindsey's athletic, acrobatic ability to put the ball on the setter's hands was enormously beneficial to the Cardinals, both on defense and serve-receive. In the BIG EAST Tournament, she had 16 digs against Syracuse and nine digs and an ace against Notre Dame. She had 11 digs against St. John's in the championship. She had 20 or more digs in six matches, led by 27 against Ohio. She had four aces against Morehead State and UConn. She earned BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honors. Her 440 digs last season, was the fifth most in a single season by a Cardinal.
High School: Mango played for Naperville Central High School as a three-year varsity starter. She was the first defensive player to be named "Player of the Year" by both the Chicago Sun Times and the Naperville Sun newspapers. Mango's senior year, as captain, her team was the 2006 IHSA Regional Champion. She helped her high school team to the 2005 IHSA Class AA State Champions her junior year. Mango played for the Sports Performance Volleyball Club in Aurora, Ill, where she was the starting libero for the SPVB 18-Elite team. She was awarded the "Best Libero" at the International V.M. Filipchenko Memorial Volleyball Tournament in Moscow, Russia. She helped guide her team to win the International V.M. Filipchenko Memorial Volleyball Tournament and the National Junior Classic 18 Gold Division Tournament. In the summer of 2007, her Sports Performance Club team won the national championship in Minneapolis, Minn., beating a team from Long Beach 3-2 and earning her All-American Honors. Her AAU 18-open division team won the National Championship held at Walt Disney's Wide World of Sports that also earned her All-American honors last summer. Besides excelling on the court, Mango has excelled off the court as well. While maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, she has also volunteered in the community at the Lupus Walk Benefit and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Run. Mango was also honored with the J. Kyle Braid Leadership award.
