High School: Katie comes to the Cardinals as a hometown product, having played for Assumption high School for Ron Kordes and for KIVA for Cristy Chapman Uhrig. In 2011, Katie was named KVCA Miss Kentucky Volleyball and KVCA First-Team All-State as well as KHSCA Outstanding Senior for Volleyball and the KHSAA State Tournament MVP. In that same year, she earned KHSAA State All-Tournament Team and led Assumption to the KHSAA State Tournament: Championship in both 2011 and 2010 and was the KVCA Region 7 Player of the Year. In 2010, she was KVCA Second-Team All-State and KHSAA Region 7 All-Tournament Team and led her team to the KHSAA Region 7 Tournament Championship. She was featured in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" and was ranked No. 81 by PrepVolleyball as well as being on Under Armour's All-American Watch List: 2011. For KIVA (Kentucky Indiana Volleyball Academy), she was named to the Wisconsin Dells Showcase All Tournament Team, 2010 and the JVDA All Tournament Team, 2009 and was a JVDA Open Gold Division Champions. In AAU, she was an Open All American in 2009 and 2008.
