LOUISVILLE, Ky. - For the second-straight week, University of Louisville track and field's Chinwe Okoro has been named the BIG EAST Women's Field Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday.

A redshirt senior, Okoro registered victories in the discus and the shot put at the Texas Roadhouse Border Battle on April 14. Her discus mark of 56.24m/184-6, which was a personal best, ranks fourth nationally and is the fifth-best throw in school history. Okoro's winning shot put toss of 16.85m/55-3.50 ranks eighth nationally, and is not only another personal best, but it is the third-best throw in school history. Both marks are tops in the BIG EAST.

The Cardinals return to action on Friday, April 20, when they play host to their second-straight home meet, the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational. The event, which will be held at Cardinal Park Track and Soccer Stadium, features Illinois State, Southeast Missouri State, Western Kentucky and tournament-host Louisville. Field events begin at 10:30 a.m., and the track events commence at 3 p.m.
