KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -
The University of Louisville women's track and field team had four top-10 finishes in just five events entered at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
Senior Kelly Faber had the Cardinals' highest finish with a sixth-place effort in the heptathlon. Faber tallied 4,757 points during the two-day event, the third highest total in school history.
Freshman Holly Geibel had a season-best throw of 131 feet, two inches in the javelin to place eighth, while sophomore Emily Kost was 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 149-0.
In the high jump, junior Kelley Bowman and senior Mindy Helman each cleared 5-6. Bowman tied for eighth and Helman was 12th due to tiebreakers based on the number of attempts at previous marks.
Junior Jacey Hughes cleared a season-best height of 11-11.75 in the pole vault to finish 11th. Sophomore Jennifer Hartig was 24th (10-6).
Louisville returns to action Saturday at the Indy Relays.
