The University of Louisville women's tennis team will be competing at the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships at the University of Memphis beginning October 18-22.
The singles and doubles champions from the NCAA Division I USTA/ITA Regional Championships will advance to the 2013 USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, taking place November 7-10, at the indoor facilities at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, located in Flushing, New York.
Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges are set to compete in 84 Regional Championships across the country. All levels of varsity college tennis compete in one comprehensive event, and any ITA varsity student-athlete has the opportunity to play and win at the prestigious USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The Louisville women's tennis team had a strong showing at the Miami Invitational, a two-day, round-robin-style tournament held at the Hepburn Courts in Oxford, Ohio. Freshman Chloe Willetts shined as she went undefeated in her first weekend of college tennis. Senior Rebecca Shine went 3-0 in singles and won 30 games in a row. The Cardinals faced off against individuals from Bowling Green, Miami, and Xavier.
