Alex Tachovsky of Laguna Beach, Calif. (Laurel Springs High School) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play tennis at the University of Louisville.
" I am happy to officially add Alex Tachovsky to our tennis program," said Mark Beckham, U of L head coach. "She has quite a bit of International experience and has trained for four years at one of the best tennis academies in the world, the Evert Academy. Alex is going to add immediate help in singles and doubles which is something we need.
Alex received three sportsmanship awards in my junior and achieved an ITF career-high ranking of 460 in 2010. She achieving a variety of doubles and singles results including doubles Grade 5, St. Lucia ITF Winner (2009) and doubles Grade 4 Plantation, FL. She was an ITF finalist (2010), a singles Semifinalist Grade 4 in Aruba ITF (2009) as well a semifinalist Grade 5 St. Lucia ITF (2009). She attended Evert Tennis Academy full-time for four years.
"Alex has won ITF Tournaments in doubles, so she is going to be a huge asset to us in doubles," said Beckham. "She is also a very good singles player, so she is going to definitely be able to help us beat the best teams on our schedule this year, which is exactly what we need to get us into the national rankings. She is going to be a good one!"
