The University of Louisville women's tennis team is back in action this weekend to finish off their regular season schedule. The Cards, 10-8, will be facing off with the University of Cincinnati at noon this Saturday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The Cardinals have designated today's contest as the Think Pink Match and encourage their fans to wear pink to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.
The Cards split matches last weekend, but notched their first win against a ranked opponent of the year. The Cards, who have dropped three matches this season by a score of 4-3, finally got a win by the score of 4-3 over the No.74-ranked Marshall University. Sarah Miller clinched the win with a gritty comeback against Kristina Koprcina winning 3-6, 7-6, 6-1. It marked only the second time this season when Sarah dropped the first set en route to victory. However, Sunday morning U of L ran into the #26 ranked Tulsa Golden Hurricanes, falling 7-0.
U of L will be taking on a 7-14 Cincinnati squad which has struggled on the road this season. The Bearcats are 0-8 this season away from home. However, the Bearcats are coming off a 7-0 win against Northern Kentucky, giving them some momentum before traveling down I-71 to face the Cardinals.
After the match against the Cincinnati, the Cards turn around quickly to face the No. 18-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
