The Louisville women's tennis team will be back in action this weekend taking on conference rival Marquette in Milwaukee. The Cards will be taking on the Golden Eagles April 1 in the Helfaer Tennis Stadium at 10 a.m. CT.
U of L is coming off an impressive weekend where they won two matches, beating Xavier and Eastern Michigan, 7-0 and 6-1 respectfully. The two victories pushed the Cards over .500 for the season (8-7), and they have won three straight matches.
Over the weekend, the U of L swept all the doubles matches dropping a combined 17 games in six total matches. The success in doubles transferred over to singles with the U of L only dropping 3 sets in 12 combined matches.
The Cards take on a 9-6 Marquette squad which has lost two out of the last three matches. However, the Golden Eagles have proven tough to beat at home this season, posting a 6-1 record at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
Following the match with Marquette, the Cards head back home for a 4-match home stand. On April 6 the U of L will take on the Thundering Hurd of Marshall University at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
