Women's Tennis Heads to San Diego State

The No. 75-ranked University of Louisville women's tennis team travels to the West Coast to take on San Diego State Friday, March 14, at 2 p.m. at the Aztec Tennis Center.

The Aztecs are 5-3 this season. The Cards are 2-2 on the road and 8-2 overall. The Cardinals are led by the No. 10-ranked doubles team of Julia Fellerhoff and Rebecca Shine. They are coming off a 4-0 road win over North Texas last Friday on the road. The schedule match against Denver was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The last meeting between the schools came in March of 2012, with U of L winning 5-2in the only previous The Aztecs dropped the doubles point and managed just two wins in singles.

Last Friday, the Aztecs fell 5-2 to No. 16-ranked California on the road. SDSU clinched the doubles point but could not hang on against the Golden Bears and their team of nationally-ranked singles players. No. 37 Antonaña Iriarte was able to pull an upset against No. 26 Anett Schutting, earning a win in three sets in San Diego State's eventual loss to California.
