Women's Tennis Set to Host Evansville and Cincinnati

The Cardinal women's tennis team will face the Evansville Purple Aces on Saturday at noon and then open action in the American Athletic Conference against Cincinnati on Sunday at 3 p.m. all in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

Louisville is currently 2-2 on the spring season, with a win against Missouri and Morehead and losses to Florida and DePaul. The meeting with Evansville will be the second of three straight home matches. The Cards swept Morehead 7-0 on Thursday in the home opener.

The Purple Aces will travel to Louisville with a 0-3 record. They fell 4-3 to Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro, Tenn. on Jan. 25, then went down to Lipscomb in Chattanooga, Tenn. by a score of 4-3on Feb. 1.

The Bearcats enter the matchup with a 1-4 record. They beat Toledo at home by a score of 4-3 on Jan. 17. The team traveled to Kentucky and lost 7-0 the following day. Cincinnati hosted Indiana on Jan. 25, and went down against the Hoosiers 7-0. Then they played Abilene Christian at home, but lost a close one by a score of 4-3.

The Cards return to the road when they travel to Madison to face Wisconsin on Feb. 14 and Darthmouth on Feb. 15.
