The University of Louisville softball team has earned the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 seed Pittsburgh Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Ulmer Stadium.

Louisville will close out the championship's opening day against No. 6 seed Pittsburgh at 6:30 p.m. The Cardinals (37-16, 16-6 BIG EAST) and the Panthers (27-24, 10-11 BIG EAST) have never met in the conference tournament and did not play each other in 2010.

The tournament's opening game will feature No. 4 seed Villanova (27-27, 12-10 BIG EAST) against No. 5 seed Syracuse (29-24, 10-10) at 10 a.m.

Top-seeded and defending regular season champion DePaul (37-15 overall, 18-3 BIG EAST) will face the No. 8 seed Rutgers (24-30 overall, 9-12 BIG EAST) in the second game of the day which is slated for a 12:30 p.m. start.

Notre Dame (44-9 overall, 18-3 BIG EAST) are the No. 2 seed for the second season in a row. The reigning BIG EAST Tournament Champions will square off against No. 7 seed Providence (22-27 overall, 10-12 BIG EAST) Thursday at 4 p.m.

The semifinal contests on May 14 and championship game on May 15 will be televised by CBS College Sports. The first semifinal game will start at 2:30 p.m., followed by the second contest at 5:00 p.m. The title game will begin at 5:00 p.m.
