LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After a challenging five-game road stretch, the University of Louisville women's soccer team returns home this weekend to host BIG EAST Conference foes USF and Marquette at Cardinal Park.
The Cardinals, which enter the weekend at 4-9-0 overall and 1-6-0 in BIG EAST action, will host USF on Friday at 7 p.m. ET, and will close the weekend against Marquette on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Sunday's game against the Golden Eagles will be televised live locally by WHAS-TV.
USF visits Louisville at 6-5-3 overall and 3-2-2 in conference games following a 2-1 win over Connecticut on Sunday in Tampa. Friday's game will be the 13th all-time between the two schools with the series tied at 6-6. The Cardinals have won five straight overall in the series, including a 2-0 win over USF on Oct. 19, 2008 in Tampa.
Marquette enters the weekend at 9-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in BIG EAST games after playing to a scoreless tie against Providence on Sunday in Milwaukee. Sunday's game will be the 19th between U of L and MU, with the Cardinals trailing 11-6-1 overall. However, Louisville has won two straight overall in the series, including a 1-0 road win in double-overtime last year.
Following this weekend's games, Louisville will close the regular season with two more games at Cardinal Park against Seton Hall (Friday, Oct. 23, 7 p.m. ET) and Rutgers (Sunday, Oct. 25, 1 p.m. ET).
Kick-Out Cancer Night at Cardinal Park
Friday will be Kick-Out Cancer Night at Cardinal Park. Fans are encouraged to wear purple & support U of L women's soccer and the U of L James Graham Brown Center. A portion of the gate receipts from Friday night's game will be donated to the James Graham Brown Center's cancer research efforts.
