LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Hosting its only home event of the season, the University of Louisville rowing team entertained its fans with the annual Red & Black Regatta on Saturday at the G. Garvin Brown III Rowing Center.

Saturday's event began with a welcome from head coach Derek Copeland at Waterfront Park along the Ohio River. The event continued with six scrimmage races featuring current and former Louisville rowers. Following the racing, rowers, coaches and fans participated in a cookout sponsored by Fischer's.

Along with the racing, fans were also entertained by the Cardinal Pride Pep Band and spirit squads, while raffle drawings were also held throughout the day. Saturday marked the seventh year of the annual Red & Black Regatta.

Up next, Louisville will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., for the Head of the Eagle Regatta on Oct. 26. The event will be contested at Eagle Creek Park, site of the 2013 and 2014 NCAA Rowing Championship.
