LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse head coach Kellie Young has announced the team's 2011 fall schedule, which consists of five road trips throughout the month of October and contests against multiple opponents that reached the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

The Cardinals' first test of the fall ball season comes on Sunday, Oct. 2, in Indianapolis, where the team will square off against Ohio State and NCAA champion, Northwestern. The Cardinals and Buckeyes faced each other in the spring, with Ohio State taking a 15-11 victory. Ohio State ended the year with a 10-7 mark, while Northwestern went 21-2.

On Oct. 8, Louisville heads north to face BIG EAST foe Cincinnati along with Detroit. The Cardinals complete the third-straight weekend road-swing with a trip to Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Fall Invitational on Oct. 15. Teams at the Navy Invitational include tournament-host Navy, James Madison and Stanford; all three reached NCAA Tournament play last season.

Louisville returns home for a busy slate the following weekend. On Oct. 22, the team plays host to its alumni game at the U of L Lacrosse Stadium, with a team banquet to follow. The next day, Oct. 23, the Cardinals will host the annual 'Battle of the Sexes' youth lacrosse clinic in conjunction with Bellarmine's men's squad from 5-8 p.m. on the Cardinals' home field.

The event on Oct. 23 will be utilized to assist in raising money for `Friends of Jaclyn,' which raises awareness about pediatric brain tumors, supporting the growth of FOJ and ultimately improving the quality of life of children with pediatric brain tumors, and the Jack McGetrick Fund, Bellarmine's former head coach, who lost his battle with cancer last year in October. A donations box will be set up at the entrance gate for fans wishing to help.

The Cardinals wrap up the fall schedule with a trip to Pennsylvania to compete in the Penn Invitational on Oct. 29 and then battle Temple on Oct. 30.
