LOUISVILLE, Ky. - On the final day of the University of Louisville women's lacrosse's inaugural Red and Black Challenge, the Black Team scored a win in the 5-on-5 scrimmage to capture the overall title.

The challenge consisted of a three-mile campus run, a one mile run, a tug of war, a biathlon/power challenge, power finesse shooting challenge, a mini Tour de France and a 5-on-5 scrimmage.

Under the direction of assistant coach Crysti Foote, the Black Team scored a win in the three-mile campus run and had the top-finisher in the mile in sophomore and all-BIG EAST second team selection, Nikki Boltja. The squad also edged the Red Team in the biathlon/power challenge, 6-5, and won the shooting challenge behind a strong performance from goalie Ashley Herbst, who was named the challenge's MVP.

The Red Team, led by assistant coach Vicki Latino, managed to capture victories in the tug of war and the five mile bike time trials (mini Tour de France).
