Vicki Latino, formerly the Manhattan women's lacrosse head coach, is in her second season with the University of Louisville women's lacrosse program.
Latino is in charge of the squad's defense after serving as her alma mater's head coach for the 2011 campaign.
Last season, even with an abundance of underclassmen, Latino helped guide the back line to rank 18th nationally in caused turnovers at 8.6 per game and 32nd in ground balls per game, averaging 16.33 per contest. The unit was led by Monica Negron, who finished the year 16th in caused turnovers per game and 34th in ground balls. Under Latino's tutelage, Negron earned all-region honors for the second-straight year.
Prior to her stint as head coach at Manhattan, Latino worked with the Tri-State Lacrosse Club in Highstown, N.J., where she served as the head coach and camps and clinics director from 2009-10. Her responsibilities included instructing summer travel All-Star lacrosse teams and assisting with the creation and set up of coaching and skills clinics throughout the state of New Jersey. Additionally, she assisted the head goalkeeper coach at multiple camps and clinics. Also during that time, Latino worked at Ramapo High as the varsity squad's assistant coach.
A Lady Jasper from 2005-08, she was a two-year starter on the back line and played in 32-consecutive contests during her junior and senior seasons. As a freshman, she was part of a squad that won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Championships.
Latino graduated from Manhattan in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in management.
