Junior Season (2009): Started all 17 games for the Cardinals... Second on the team with 42 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers... Picked up fi ve ground balls three times on the season (Bryant, Villanova, UC Davis)... Her season high in caused turnovers was six against Manhattan... Helped the Cardinals finish second in the nation in caused turnovers behind Loyola (MD), which also is in the BIG EAST Conference... Was a two time member of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Role Selection... Ranked 31st nationally in caused turnovers and 51st in ground balls.

Prior to U of L: Competed for two seasons at the University of Massachusetts prior to transferring to U of L... Played in four games as a sophomore in 2008... Started 17 games in her first year at UMass in 2007 picking up a team-leading 40 ground ball to go along with 17 caused turnovers and 12 draw controls... Was named to the womenslacrosse.com All-American Rookie Team as the only defender on the squad... Also named to IWLCA All-Region Second Team, one of only eight fi rst year athletes to earn All-Region honors... Named to Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team and to the A-10 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll... Had career-high five ground balls against both St. Joseph's and George Washington.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Shoreham-Wading River High School where she was a two-time all-county selection... Academic All-American her senior year... Named defensive MVP her junior year... Put up career statistics of 32 goals and 14 assists... Was also a soccer, basketball and gymnastics standout... Named scholar athlete all four years of high school for each team... Named all-conference, all-county and defensive MVP for soccer... Named the section XI MVP and all-league in basketball... Also a Suffolk Zone Recipient and Athlete of the Year.

Personal: Born on July 7, 1988... Daughter of Bill and Susan King... She has one brother, John (23)... Majoring in business management with a minor in marketing... Father Bill was a collegiate wrestler at Boston University and Florida International and he also competed in the Body Building Championships.

Q&A with Ashley: Her post-college ambition is to own a restaurant... The greatest infl uence on her athletic career has been her dad... Her biggest thrill in sports is making it to the BIG EAST Tournament the fi rst year in the conference... What impresses her most about Coach Young is that she can be a mother to her daughter and a second mom to the whole squad... Her biggest obstacle to overcome has been transferring to a new school as an upperclassman... Hobbies include Wii, TV, and swimming... Her pre-game superstition is to put her left shoe on fi rst... Her favorite pro team is the New York Yankees... She would most like to meet Marilyn Monroe if she were alive... The best description of her is energetic and a little weird at times... The best advice about sports she ever received was to never settle, stay hungry from her dad... If she could have dinner with three people (living or deceased),it would be Marilyn Monroe, Willy Wonka, and Lucille Ball... She chose U of L because of the close knit team... The best part of being an athlete for her is the awesome friends and experiences... The strangest thing to happen to her in a game was that her stick got stuck to the attacker she was guarding... Favorite place ever visited was Europe... Her favorite season is summer.
