Laura Anderson Selected to Play in the 2010 World University Games

Louisville, Ky. - University of Louisville junior Laura Anderson has been selected to play in the 2010 World University games in Antequera Malaga Spain on June 7-11, 2010. Anderson is one of just five players selected to represent the United States this summer. The Antequera Golf course is a spectacular 18 hole golf course, the length of the course is over 6,562 yd (6,000 m).

Anderson joins senior Ashley Bauer from Michigan, senior Laura Kueny from Michigan State, junior Stefanie Kenoyer from Furman and sophomore Catherine O'Donnell from North Carolina to make up the United States women's team. The championships will be played over 72 holes stroke-play: 18 holes a day for the four consecutive days of the event.

Anderson finished the fall season with an impressive 71.9 stroke average and finished in the Top 10 of four tournaments. Anderson also won two tournaments this fall, the Mercedes-Benz Championships and the Ptarmigan Ram Classic. She shot her collegiate low of 206 in the Ptarmigan Ram Classic. She also shot a collegiate low round of 67 the last two seasons.
