Chapel Hill, N.C. - The No. 22 Louisville women's golf team will play in 34th annual Tar Heel Invitational October 9-11 at UNC Finley Golf Course, which features a par 72, 6,285-yard layout. Tee times begin at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday with teams starting off both the #1 and #10 tees. There will be a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday.
The field of 18 teams includes nine which are ranked in the top 25 and 14 in the top 50 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. In addition to host North Carolina which is ranked 33rd, the field includes Auburn (#2), Michigan State (#10), Alabama (#12), Duke (#13), Texas A&M (#19), Florida State (#20), Virginia (#21), South Carolina (#25), Kent State (#28), Wake Forest (#30), Tennessee (#35) and Vanderbilt (#36).
Juniors Sara-Maude Juneau and Laura Anderson will lead the Cardinals playing the top spots. Juneau will play in the No. 1 spot after winning her first collegiate tournament at the Napa River Grill Cardinal cup. Anderson will play the No. 2 spot. She also won her first collegiate tournament in the Cards' first tournament at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic.
Senior Daphne Parker will play in the third spot for the Cardinals. Parker finished tied for third at the Napa River Grill Cardinal Cup. Reshirt freshman Anna Karin Ljungstrom will play the fourth spot for the Cards. Ljunstrom also finished tied for sixth in the Napa River Grill Cardinal Classic. Freshman Candice Wiley will play the fifth spot for Louisville. Wiley registered her first Top 20 finish in the Napa River Grill Cardinal Cup.
