LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's golfers Katie Mitchell and Shannon Gramley are advancing to the third round of stroke play at the 112th North & South Women's Amateur Championship in Village of Pinehurst, N.C.
The top 60 players and ties made the cut to the third round of stroke play, which will determine the top 16 seeds for match play. The champion will be decided with match play at No. 8 on Friday and Saturday.
Mitchell, currently tied for 23rd overall, shot a 77 in the first round and then battled in the second with a 72. The Jacksonville, Fla., native totaled one birdie and then managed par on 17 of 18 holes on Wednesday for the second day of competition at Pinehurst No. 8.
Gramley, who helped Louisville win the inaugural AAC title in April, is tied for 39th in the field. The sophomore, who had two of her three birdies on the back nine, finished the second day of competition with a 74.
Mitchell and Gramley are scheduled to tee off at 7:48 a.m. ET on Thursday for third-round stroke play.
