Louisville, Ky. - Women's golfer Emily Haas was named to the Capital One Academic All-District II First team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announce on Thursday. The eight all-district teams were selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

The sophomore carries a 3.98 grade point average in biology. Haas was a first team All-American Athletic Conference selection after finishing second at the 2014 American Athletic Championship in April. Her 10-foot put on the 18th hole helped the Cardinals win the conference title. Haas ranks second on the team in stroke average with a 73.3 average. Haas is currently ranked 94th by Golfstat. She finished the season with five Top 10 Finishes.

To be eligible for academic all-district teams, student-athletes must be starters or important reserves with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages. Candidates also must complete at least one full academic year at the nominating institution and be at least sophomores athletically.

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

This is the second straight year Haas has earned this honors. She was the first women's golfer to earn this honor since Cindy Pasechnik earned it in 2003.
