Women's Golf Defeats Ohio State in Dual Match Play

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville women's golf team defeated Ohio State in dual match play on Saturday, March 23 at the Audubon Country Club. The Cardinals edged the Buckeyes by three strokes, winning 312-309.

"It was a great team effort," said head coach Courtney Trimble. "We set out to beat each of our players we were up against and we were able to get the win."

Senior Candice Wiley and freshman Meghan Theiss won medalist honors after carding a 74 for the day. Amy Meier was the best finisher for the Buckeyes, shooting a 75 on the day.

Sophomore Emily Haas shot a 78 for the Cardinals. Sara Karlsson and Tara Lyons both finished with a 79 for the Cardinals. Sophomore Katie Petrino finished with an 80 on the day.

Ohio State's Claudia Lim, Allison Harper and Susana Benavides all finished the day shooting a 79. Jan Chanpalangsri finished with an 80 while Sheridan Balyeat shot an 85.

Louisville will be back in action on March 29th as they travel to Greensboro, N.C. for the Bryan National Collegiate
