The Louisville women's golf team finished round one of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational tied for 12th place with Wake Forest after shooting a 304. Virginia leads the field after shooting a 286 at the UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C. North Carolina and Baylor are tied for second with a score of 288.
Junior Tara Lyons led the Cardinals in the first round and is currently tied for seventh place. Lyons finished the day carding a 71, just one stroke under par. Hayley Davis of Baylor leads the field after shooting a 67 in the first round.
Freshman Laura Restrepo and sophomore Emily Hass both finished the day tied at 53rd. Restrepo and Haas finished the day shooting a 77.
Senior Candice Wiley and sophomore Katie Petrino finished the first round tied at 71st. Both Wiley and Petrino finished the day carding a 79.
The Cardinals will continue play tomorrow for the second round with tee times starting at 10:30 a.m.
