Women's Golf Currently Leads the Cardinal Cup Field After Two Rounds

Simpsonville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's golf team leads the field with a score of 591 after two rounds in the Cardinal Cup held at the Cardinal Club Course in Simpsonville. The Cardinals shot a 294 in the first round and a 297 in the second round to move up four spots to take the lead. Cincinnati is currently second with a score of 596. Missouri and Georgia State are tied for third with a score of 599.

Sophomore Emily Haas currently leads the field. She shot a 69 in the first and second round for a score of 138. Missouri's Taylor Gohn is five strokes behind Haas in second with a score of 143. Katie Petrino shot a 74 in the first round and a 72 in the second round for a score of 146. Petrino is tied for sixth.

Louisville's two freshmen Meghan Theiss and Laura Restrepo are competing as individuals in their first action with the Cardinals. Theiss shot a 70 in the first round and a 76 in the second round for a score of 146 and is currently tied at sixth. Restrepo is also tied at sixth with a score of 146. She shot a 69 in the first round and a 77 in the second round.

Junior Tara Lyons shot a 74 in the first round and a 78 in the second round for a score of 152. Lyons is currently tied at 32nd. Senior Candice Wiley shot a 77 in the first round and a 78 in the second round for a score of 155. Wiley is currently tied at 49th.

Sophomore Sara Karlsson shot a 77 in the first round and an 88 in the second round for a score of 165. Karlsson is currently tied at 78th. Junior Maike Klein was the final Cardinal competing as an individual. Klein shot a 77 in the first round and an 85 in the second round. She is currently tied at 74th.

The Cardinals will wrap up play on Tuesday morning with 8:40 a.m. shotgun start.
