Women's Golf Moves Into Third Place After Second Round of BIG EAST Tournament Play

Reunion, Fla. - The Louisville women's golf team shot a 311 in the second round of the BIG EAST Tournament at Reunion-Watson Course in Reunion, Fla. on Monday afternoon. The Cardinals moved into third place with a score of 623. South Florida took the lead with a score of 604 and Notre Dame is second with a score of 609.

Freshman Emily Haas leads the Cardinals for the second straight day. Haas is tied for third with a score of 151, just one stroke off the leader. The freshman shot a 77 in the second round and is in a two way tie for second. Ashley Armstrong of Notre Dame and Amy West of South Florida currently lead the field with a score of 150.

Freshman Katie Petrino shot a 77 in the second round as well. Petrino currently stands in 11th place with a score of 154. Senior Maria Castellanos shot a 78 in the second round. She is currently tied for 19th with a score of 159.

Sophomore Tara Lyons shot an 80 in the second round. She is currently tied at 22nd with a score of 160. Junior Candice Wiley is also tied at 22nd with a score of 160. Wiley shot a 79 in the second round of play. Senior leader Anna-Karin Ljungstrom sat out the BIG EAST Tournament but was cleared to play after having thumb surgery. She did not have enough practice time to qualify for the BIG EAST Tournament.

The Cardinals will wrap up play on Tuesday morning with a tee times beginning at 8:50 a.m.
