The Louisville women's golf team shot a 302 in the second round of the BIG EAST Championship on Monday afternoon. The Cardinals moved into second place with a score of 610. Notre Dame leads the Cardinals by 18 strokes with a score of 592. Georgetown, previously tied with the Cards after the first round, is in third with a score of 623. South Florida is fourth with a score of 625.
Sophomore Anna-Karin Ljungstrom continued her solid play for the Cardinals, carding a 72 in the second round. Ljungstrom is currently tied at third with a score of 148. She had two birdies heading into the ninth hole and was one under. She double bogeyed the ninth hole to make the turn at one over. She recovered nicely on the back nine and birdied holes 11 and 15 to finish at even par. St. John's Harin Lee leads the field with a score of 142.
Senior Sara-Maude Juneau shot a 76 in the second round. She is currently tied at eighth with a score of 151. Juneau had two birdies on the front nine but struggled with three bogeys and one double bogey to make the turn at three over par. She double bogeyed the 10th hole but recovered with three birdies in the final eight holes to finish four over on the day.
Senior Laura Anderson shot a 78 on the day and is currently tied at 11th with a score of 155. Anderson was very steady on the front nine. She was at even par until she bogeyed holes eight and nine to make the turn at two over. The 10th hole also gave Anderson trouble as she also double bogeyed. She finished the back nine at four over while finishing the day at six over.
Freshman Tara Lyons had a better second day, shooting a 76 on the day. She is currently tied at 13th with a score of 156. Lyons struggled early with four bogeys in the first six holes but recovered with two birdies on the final three holes, making the turn at two over. She finished the back nine with three bogeys and one birdie to finish at four over on the day.
Junior
Maria Castellanos shot a 79 in the second round and is currently tied at 24th with a score of 161. On the front nine, she shot two bogeys and one double bogey to make the turn at four over. She finished with two birdies, three bogeys and one double bogey on the back nine.
