Women's Golf in Seventh Place after One Round in the LSU Golf Classic

Baton Rouge, La. - The Louisville women's golf team shot a 303 in the first round of the LSU Golf Classic on Friday afternoon at the University Golf Club. The Cardinals are currently in seventh place after the first day of play. Wake Forest leads the field with a score of 294. Texas A&M is second with a score of 298 and host LSU and Duke are tied for third with a score of 300.

Senior Sara-Maude Juneau shot a 73 in the first round. She finished the day with two birdies and is currently tied for 7th after finishing the day at one over. North Carolina's Catherine O'Donnell and Wake Forest's Natalie Sheary are currently tied for the lead at one under par.

Senior Laura Anderson and sophomore Anna Karin Ljungstrom are both tied for 21st after shooting a 75 in the first round. Anderson made the turn at two over and finished the back nine at one over. Ljungstrom had two birdies on the day making the turn at one over and finishing the back nine at two over.

Sophomore Candice Wiley shot an 80 in the first round. She is currently tied at 64th. Freshman Tara Lyons shot an 81 in the first round. Lyons is currently tied at 77th.

The Cardinals will teeing off from the first hole tomorrow morning at 8:21 a.m.
