Women's Golf Moves Up Two Spots at the LSU Golf Classic

Baton Rouge, La. - The Louisville women's golf team moved up two spots into eighth place after the second round of the LSU Golf Classic on Saturday afternoon at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La. The Cardinals shot a 308 in the second round for a score of 622. Tennessee and host LSU lead the field with a score of 587. Tennessee shot a 289 today while the Tigers shot a 292. North Carolina and Vanderbilt are tied for third with a score of 601.

Freshman Katie Petrino and Senior Maria Castellanos led the Cardinals again in the second round, both are currently tied at 23rd. Petrino and Castellanos shot a 75 in the second round for a score of 152. LSU's Madelene Sagstrom leads the field after shooting a 71 to take a one stroke lead with a score of 142.

Freshman Emily Haas shot a 78 in the second round. She is currently tied at 44th with a score of 157. Senior Anna-Karin Ljungstrom has played through an injury and carded an 80 in the second round. She is currently tied at 56th with a score of 161.

Freshman Sara Karlsson shot an 82 in the second round. Karlsson is currently in 75th place with a scfore of 170. Junior Candice Wiley competed as an individual. Wiley shot an 84 in the second round and is currently tied at 71st with a score of 167.

The Cardinals will wrap up play on Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
