The Louisville women's golf team is currently in 10th place after one round in the LSU Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La. The Cardinals shot a 314 in the first round. Host LSU is currently in the lead, finishing the day at seven over par with a score of 295 . Tennessee is second with a score of 291 and North Carolina is third with a score of 301.
Senior Maria Castellanos and freshman Katie Petrino led the Cardinals in the first round, carding a 77. Both are currently tied at 27th. Vanderbilt's Marina Alex leads the field with a one stroke lead finishing the day with a 70.
Freshman Emily Haas is currently tied at 42nd with a score of 79. Senior Anna-Karin Ljungstrom shot an 81 in the first round and is currently tied at 57th.
Freshman Sara Karlsson shot an 88 in the first round and is currently in 76th place. Junior Candice Wiley is competing as an individual. She shot an 83 in the first round and is currently tied at 65th.
The Cardinals will begin second round play on Saturday with a 9:30 a.m. tee time.
