WESTON, Fla. - The University of Louisville women's golf team sits in sixth place after two rounds in the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge on Monday afternoon. The Cardinals shot a 306 in the first round and improved by four strokes after a 302 in the second round for a two round score of 608. NC State leads the 14 team field at 576 with Texas sitting in second after firing 591 on the first day.
Freshman Emily Haas led the Cardinals in the first two rounds and is currently tied for eighth. Haas shot a 74 in both rounds to finish with a score of 148. NC State's Augusta James fired a 3-under 69 in both rounds to lead the field with a score of 138.
Senior Maria Castellanos is tied for 21st. Castellanos fired a 77 in the first round before carding a 74 in the second round for a total of 151. Senior Anna-Karin Ljungstrom sits four strokes behind Castellanos in a tie for 35th. Ljungstrom carded a 78 in the first round before improving by two strokes to finish with a 76 in the second round for a score of 154.
Redshirt freshman Katie Petrino is tied for 42nd. Petrino shot a 78 in both rounds for a score of 156. Junior Candice Wiley rounded out the lineup and is tied for 55th. Wiley shot a 77 in the first round and a 81 in the second for a score of 158.
Sophomore Maike Klein, redshirt freshman Sara Karlsson and sophomore Tara Lyons are competing as individuals. Klein is currently tied for 49th. She shot a 78 in the first round and a 79 in the second round for a score of 157. Karlsson is tied for 68th. She carded an 82 in the first round and an 80 in the second round for a score of 165. Lyons is tied for 74th after two rounds. She shot an 83 in the first round and an 82 in the second round for a total of 165.
The Cardinals will wrap up play on Tuesday with an 8:15 a.m. tee time.
