University of Louisville senior Hayley Turner was named BIG EAST Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.
Turner, a midfielder from Sydney, Australia, scored twice in each of Louisville's games for a total of four goals and eight points. In the 5-3 win over Davidson on Sept. 3, she registered the game-tying and insurance goals. Turner accounted for both of Louisville's goals against No. 11 Wake Forest on Sept. 4, including the game-tying goal she scored at the 69:08 mark to send the game to overtime.
She leads the team with four goals and nine points on the season. Turner is currently tied for fifth place on the school's list for career goals (38) and takes over fifth place in career points (89).
Turner will lead the 16th ranked Cardinals (2-2) this week as they host Missouri State on Sept. 9 at 3 p.m. and Appalachian State on Sept. 11 at 2 p.m.
