Field Hockey Signs Byrne

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville head coach Justine Sowry announced that Stephanie Byrne has signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Cardinals starting in the fall of 2013. She is the third of six newcomers expected to join the U of L field hockey program, with the other signees to be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Stephanie Byrne joins the Cardinals from Millstone N.J. where she played for the nation's top-ranked Eastern Regional High School (ranked in 2011 and 2012). As a senior, she was named to the 2012 Harrow Sports National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School All-New Jersey Region team, the New Jersey All-Region team and was an All-Group 4 first team selection. She competed in the Junior Olympics, Futures Elite and the Junior National Camp. Byrne was also a three-year letterwinner in lacrosse.
