The 9th ranked Louisville Cardinals will host Vermont on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2:00 p.m. in Freedom Hall. The game will be broadcast live on WKRD or at www.uoflsports.com. Jim Kelch will handle play-by-play duties while Adrienne Johnson will be the color analyst.
The Cardinals enter the game ranked 9th in the AP Poll and 11th in the Coaches Poll this week. Louisville enters the game with an overall record of 9-1. Senior Angel McCoughtry leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 22.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Senior Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
Vermont enters the game with an overall record of 5-4. Senior Courtnay Pilypaitis leads the Catamounts in scoring and rebounding with 16.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Junior guard May Kotsopoulos is second on the team in scoring with 14.8 points per game. Rounding out the double figure scorers is senior guard Amy Rosenkrantz with 10.7 points per game. Rosenkrantz is also the top 3-point shooter, knocking down 47.4 percent from behind the arc.
Sunday's game will be the third meeting between the two teams. The series is tied at 1-1. Last season the Cardinals defeated Vermont 87-52 in Burlington.
