The No. 6/7 University of Louisville women's basketball team will host Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. Louisville is 7-0 on the year after defeating UT Martin 79-61 on the road Monday night.
Louisville enters the week ranked sixth in the USA Today/ESPN WBCA Coaches Poll and seventh in the Associated Press Poll. Shoni Schimmel leads the team in scoring and assists with 13.4 points and 4.9 per game. Sara Hammond leads the team in rebounding with 8.3 boards per game. Hammond also ranks second on the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game.
The Lady Colonels are 3-2 going into the game after two consecutive losses in the San Juan Shootout. The Lady Colonels started the season at 3-0 before falling to Florida State (90-51) and Wisconsin Milwaukee (68-64) in San Juan. Marie Carpenter leads EKU in scoring with 27.0 points per game. Jade Barber and Brittany Coles round out the top scorers for the Lady Colonels averaging 13.4 and 12.0 points respectively.
