Philadelphia, Pa. - The No. 11/12 Louisville women's basketball team will face Villanova on the road on Feb. 24 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pavilion. Fans can also listen to the game on WKRD 790 AM or at www.GoCards.com with Matt Andrews and Adrienne Johnson calling the action.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 21-6 and a 9-4 record in league play. The Cardinals will be looking to bounce back after falling to USF 72-63 at home on Wednesday night. Shoni Schimmel led four Cardinals in double figures with 16 points. Overall, Schimmel leads the team in scoring with 13.9 points while dishing out 3.7 assists. Sara Hammond ranks second on the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game while leading the team in rebounding with 6.7 per game.
The Wildcats are coming off a 57-44 win at Georgetown on Saturday. Lauren Burford led Villanova with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting from three-point range, while Laura Sweeney added 11 points, nine rebounds, five steals, two blocks and two assists. The Wildcats enter the game with an 18-7 overall record and a 7-5 mark in BIG EAST play. The Wildcats are led by Sweeney who leads the team in scoring (13.2 ppg.), rebounding (6.8 rpg.), field goal percentage (.520), steals (62) and blocks (47). Rachel Roberts ranks second in scoring at 10.5 points per game.
