The 5th ranked Louisville Cardinals will the Syracuse Orange on Tuesday, Feb. 3 in Freedom Hall at 7:00 p.m. The Cardinals earned their highest ranking of No. 5 in today's Associated Press Poll.
The Cardinals enter the game ranked 5th in the AP Poll and 11th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll this week. Louisville enters the game with an overall record of 20-2 and 7-1 in league play. Louisville's 20-2 record is the best start in school history. Senior Angel McCoughtry leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 22.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Senior Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 11.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Syracuse enters the game with an overall record of 14-7 and a league record of 3-5. The Orange are 5-4 on the road this season and 2-2 on the road in BIG EAST play. Syracuse has four players averaging double figures. Erica Morrow leads all scorers with 16.9 points and Chandrea Jones is second on the team with 15.9 points per game. Jones also leads the team on the boards with 8.3 rebounds per game. Nicole Michael is third on the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game while Juanita Ward comes off the bench to average 10.2 points.
