The No. 10/15 Louisville women's basketball team will host Rutgers on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the KFC Yum! Center. The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
The Cardinals will be looking to bounce back after falling to DePaul 86-80 on Saturday in the BIG EAST opener. The Cards enter the game with an overall record of 12-3 and a league record of 0-1. Four Cardinals scored in double figures with senior Monique Reid scoring a season-high 25 points while Shoni Schimmel also scored a season-high 19 points. Overall, Schimmel leads the team in scoring with 11.9 points while dishing out 3.8 assists. Sara Hammond is second on the team in scoring with 11.6 points while leading the team in rebounding with 7.3 per game. Reid rounds out the top scorers with 10.6 points per game.

The Scarlet Knights enter the game with an overall record of 9-5 and 0-1 in league play. Rutgers opened the BIG EAST slate on Sunday with a 48-44 setback to St. John's at the RAC. The Scarlet Knights overcame a 15-point deficit with four minutes remaining to pull within two of the Red Storm with 15 seconds remaining. Senior Monique Oliver currently leads the Scarlet Knights with 11.1 points and 4.9 rebounds. Senior guard Erica Wheeler is the second leading scorer, averaging double figures at 10.2 points.
