Team Notes

• With a 75-56 victory over UCF, Louisville now leads the all-time series 2-0 against the Knights. The Cardinals won the first meeting 94-73 on Nov. 20, 2012 last season.

• Louisville is 3-0 against opponents from the state of Florida this season after beating UCF, having previously defeated both Florida State and USF. The Cardinals are 12-2 against opponents from the state of Florida since the 2007-08 season when coach Jeff Walz took over.

• The Cardinals 10-game winning streak is the longest since a 14 game winning streak during the 2008-09 season.

• Louisville improves to 17-1 with a victory over UCF, which is tied for the best 18 game start in school history. The best start in the first 18 games of a season was 17-1 during the 2006-07 season and the 2008-09 season.

• The Cardinals improve to 5-0 in American Athletic Conference play, which moves them into sole possession of the third best start for conference play in school history. The record for the best start in conference play is 7-0 during the 1996-97 season. Louisville started conference play at 6-0 in the 2008-09 season.

• Louisville improves to 12-0 at the KFC Yum! Center this season, which ties them for the third best home start in a season having previously gone 12-0 to start in the 1990-91 and 2008-09 seasons. The record for the best home start is 17-0 during the 2006-07 season.

• The Cardinals' win tonight give them 50 wins in the KFC Yum! Center. Louisville is now 50-6 all-time in the KFC Yum! Center.

• After the win over UCF, the Cardinals are now 107-11 when scoring 70 or more points in a game during Coach Walz's tenure.

• Louisville had both senior Shoni Schimmel (27) and junior Sara Hammond (22) score 20+ points in the same game against UCF for the first time this season. The last time the Cardinals had two players score 20+ points in the same game was against Baylor during last season's NCAA Tournament when Schimmel (22) and senior Antonita Slaughter (21) accomplished the feat.

• The Cardinals four total steals against UCF is the lowest total in a game this season. The previous low was six against SMU.

Player Notes • Senior Shoni Schimmel scored 27 points against UCF, the sixth time this season she has scored 20+ points in a game and the third game in a row. The 27 points is her second highest point total in a game this season.

• With Schimmel's 27 points, she now moves past Jazz Covington for third place on the all-time career scoring list with 1,826 career points. She needs just 74 points to move into second place past Nell Knox.

• Schimmel set a new season-high for field goals attempted with 22 against UCF, while also tying her season-highs in 3-point field goals made and 3-point field goal attempts going 5 of 14.

• Junior Sara Hammond tied her career-high in points scoring 22 against UCF. She previously recorded 22 points against St. John's on March 10, 2013.

• Hammond's nine field goals made ties her career-high having recorded nine against Texas A&M on Nov. 9, 2012.

• Senior Antonita Slaughter tied her season-high in steals with two against UCF. She recorded two steals in three other games this season.

• Junior Bria Smith tied her season-high in free throws made with six against UCF. She previously knocked down six in the first game of the season against Loyola Chicago.

• Redshirt sophomore Monny Niamke set a new career-high in free throw attempts with five against UCF. She previously had attempted three in three games this season.
