Fran Bell enters her first season with the Louisville women's basketball program. She will serve a dual role with the Cardinals as the Director of Basketball Operations and the Strength and Conditioning Coach. She will also be responsible for the player's academics, community outreach and the LifeSkills program.
Bell comes to Louisville after working with the WNIT as a site coordinator. She was also the owner of Dynamic Sports Performance, a consulting business aimed at developing athleticism through, agility, balance, coordination and speed. Some of her clients included the United States Team Handball Team, The University of Kentucky volleyball program, the Fort Collins Force and the Colorado State women's basketball and volleyball programs.
She also served as an assistant soccer coach for the Fort Collins Force, a semipro soccer team, from 2000-01. While in Colorado, Bell was an Acceleration Coordinator for McKee Medical Center from 1996-2000. The program facilitated neuromuscular change in athletes of all ages and abilities and was responsible for leadership and management of all site operations. She was responsible for management of all site operations and supervising the Thompson R2J sports medicine community outreach program.
From 1994-96 Bell was the fitness manager and sports coordinator for The Spectrum Club in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Prior to that stint she served two years as the operations director for Healthworks in Fort Collins.
Bell began her career in training as an assistant manager for The Sports Club Company in Los Angeles, Calif. She served as an assistant manager from 1987-92. Before going to The Sports Club Company, Bell served as an assistant volleyball coach at Southwest Missouri State from 1984-85.
An former volleyball letterwinner for the University of Houston, Bell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Houston in 1984. She is a certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is also a certified personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
