LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville head coach Ron Mann announced the 2010 outdoor track and field schedule on Friday which includes return trips to several destinations and three events at Cardinal Park.

"It's great to have three home meets and we have now assembled a home schedule that would rival the best in the nation, "said Mann. "With the new format of NCAA qualifications this schedule directly reflects our goals and philosophies as we move the program forward into national prominence."

Louisville will compete in six consecutive meets to open the outdoor season. The first stop is at the LSU Relays in Baton Rouge, La. on the weekend of March 26-27. The Cardinals will then head to West Lafayette to run in the Mike Poehlein Invitational on April 2-3 for the second straight year.

U of L subsequently returns home for two straight weeks of competition. The Cardinals will open up with the Border Battle "Kentuckiana" on April 10, which is a dual meet against cross-state rival Indiana. Following that event, Louisville will host the third annual Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational on April 16.

The Cards then visit the "City of Brotherly Love" from April 22-24 for the Penn Relays.

The weekend of April 30-May 2, brings the Cards to Cincinnati, Ohio for the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. The Cardinal women will be aiming to capture their third consecutive BIG EAST Championship while the men, 2007 champions, will look to bring the trophy back to Louisville after a runner-up finish last year.

May 14 provides U of L with a final tune-up for NCAA competition as they will once again host the Cardinal Twilight.

On May 28-29, the Cardinals will travel to Greensboro, N.C., where they will compete against 194 teams at the NCAA East Regional Championships. The new NCAA format will send teams to either the West or East regional sites.

Louisville will then aim to make another solid appearance at the NCAA Championships on June 9-12 in Eugene, Oregon.

The final meet of the year consists of the USATF Junior and Senior Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa from June 24-27.
