University of Louisville men's tennis signees Auggie Ge and Pally Ray competed in the USTA National Winter Championships.
In singles, Auggie Ge, earned the No. 13 overall seed of the tournament and defeated Alexander Reinke 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 128. He went on to beat Trevor Foshey 6-3, 6-1 in the second round to advance to the round of 16 where he fell 6-2, 6-3 to Charlie Adams.
Ray lost his first round match to the overall No. 1 seed Mitch Stewart 7-5, 6-1. In the consolation draw, Ray defeated Ozzy Abraham 7-5, 6-3. In the third round, Ray rebounded from a 6-4 first-set loss to beat Daniel Yun 6-3, in the second set, but fell 10-7 in the third.
Ge and Ray, who earned the No. 16 seed out of 60 doubles teams, defeated Kyle Motoshige and Luke Whalen 6-0, 6-2 in the first round, but fell 6-2, 6-1 to Michael Genender and James Wasserman in the second round.
