University of Louisville men's tennis signee Pally Ray finished runner-up in the United States Tennis Association Fall Southern Indoor Championships.

"I am proud of Pally Ray's result," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He had a bull's eye on his back all tournament long. He defeated some good players including a couple of 4 star recruits. I believe Pally's best tennis is still ahead of him and he will develop significantly with us at UofL."

Ray earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament opened the 64-player singles draw with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 win over Lorenzo Rollhauser. He went on to beat David Reed 6-0, 6-2 and Austin Bates 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals where he defeated Gus Benson 6-1, 6-1. In the semifinals, Ray bested Simon Jayaram 7-6, 6-3 before falling 6-3, 6-4 to top-seeded Matthew Mendez in the championship match.
