Men's Tennis Releases Fall Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rex Ecarma has announced the 2012-12 fall schedule.

"I am excited about the events that we have been invited to," said Ecarma. "Our team is comprised almost exclusively of freshmen and sophomores. The really need a lot of match play and a schedule like this is perfect for that."

The Cards will open the fall season Sept. 14-16 at the Fab4/Duke Invitational. Some of the team will compete in the Louisville Fall Invitational Sept. 21-13 while other members of the team will travel to Charlottesville, Va., for the UVA Ranked Plus One Invitational. Louisville will close out September at the Ball State Invitational.

In the first week of October, selected members of the team will compete in the All-American Championships. The will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Tennessee Invitational Oct. 12-14. The Ohio Valley Regional Championships will take place Oct. 19-13.

U of L will hold it Winter Invitational Nov. 9-11 and will compete in the IMG Futures tournament Nov. 9-13 to conclude the fall season.

The Cardinals finished the season at 18-10 after making their fourth straight and ninth overall NCAA appearance under the guidance of 2012 BIG EAST Conference Coach of the Year Rex Ecarma. U of L returns seven players from that team including 2012 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Sebastian Steifelmeyer and fellow all-conference selection Albert Wagner. Six newcomers will join the Cards in 2012-13 season.
