Van Damrongsri picks up wins in singles and doubles in USTA Boys 18 Championships

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - University of Louisville incoming freshman Van Damrongsri registered three wins in the United States Tennis Association Boys 18 and Under National Championships.

In singles, Van Damrongsri defeated Robbie Mudge 5-7, 6-0, 6-0 in the first round. He will face the No. 30 seed Nick Chappell in the second round.

In doubles, he combined with Joe Dorn to pick up two wins in the tournament.

"Van has been working very hard this summer and it is paying off," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "He has a complete game and is competing against some quality competition."
