University of Louisville men's tennis signee Colton Buffington recently won the Ohio High School State Tennis Championship.

"I am so proud of Colton in winning the state tournament," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "He will have the label of `state champion' forever. He beat a good player who was ranked as high as No. 43 in the country. This new class is gaining momentum with Austin Siegel making it to the Easter Bowl Doubles finals, Alex Gornet with some big wins this spring and now Colton's state title. I think exciting times are ahead."

The Westlake High School senior defeated Liberty Township Lakota East senior Zach Mueck 6-2, 6-3 in the finals to cap his senior season with a 30-0 record. En route to his championship match, he picked up three straight-set wins to reach his fourth consecutive state championship match.
