Simon Childs Garners BIG EAST Men's Tennis Player of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - - The University of Louisville's Simon Childs was named BIG EAST Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on April 8. This marks Childs' second league honor this season. Childs finished 2-0 in singles and won a doubles match last week, improving his individual record to 21-10 this season. The Cardinals boast a 17-6 record after securing a 4-1 win against USF on April 4. From the No. 3 position, Childs beat the Bulls' Jamal Adderley in straight sets 6-2, 6-0, while also teaming with Viktor Maksimcuk at No. 1 doubles for an 8-6 win. The sophomore also picked up a win in singles in the Cardinals' 4-3 loss to VCU on April 3. The 26th ranked Cardinals will close the regular season with a BIG EAST showdown with No. 20 Notre Dame Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m.
